Why it matters
Space occupancy monitoring uses discreet sensors to track how desks, rooms, and common areas are actually used day to day. By measuring presence, movement, and door openings, it shows which spaces are busy, which are underused, and how patterns shift across the week.

Knowledge Base
At Mayfair Office, a high-end multi-tenant building in London, 4D Monitoring deployed wireless temperature sensors across key zones to investigate recurring comfort complaints and high energy use.
The data revealed temperature fluctuations between floors and extended heating runtimes outside normal operating hours. By adjusting setpoints and rebalancing airflow using the live temperature data, the FM team restored stability and reduced wasted energy.
Do we need a BMS?
No. We work BMS-independently and can complement any existing controls.
Can you turn things off automatically?
We focus on visibility and clear actions; where appropriate, we can integrate with your controls team to automate agreed rules.
Will installs disrupt tenants?
Devices are discreet, battery-powered where possible, and fitted around access and H&S requirements.
